Online ESL Teacher for Chinese Students at eHello – $10–20/Class in Beijing

eHello is recruiting native English-speaking ESL teachers to deliver online reading and literacy classes to Chinese students aged 6–16, working remotely on a flexible schedule aligned with Beijing peak hours.

Job Description

As an online ESL teacher with eHello, you will deliver engaging English reading lessons through the company’s proprietary teaching platform, which includes a dedicated Teacher Center and a fully interactive virtual classroom. Lessons focus on two core curricula:

• Reading Explorer (RE) – structured reading comprehension courses
• Intensive Reading Courses – text-based programmes using popular titles such as Magic Tree House and Harry Potter, among others

Classes are available in two formats:

• One-on-one RE Class – 50 minutes per session
• Small-group RE / Intensive Reading Class – 4 to 6 students, either 50 or 90 minutes per session

Peak teaching hours run 17:00–22:00 on weekdays and 09:00–21:00 on weekends (Beijing Time). Teachers are expected to maintain curriculum proficiency, deliver well-paced lessons, and adapt their approach to the needs of young learners across this age range.

Please note: prior small-group teaching experience is a prerequisite for group class assignments, and interview questions will specifically address small-class management strategies.

Requirements

• Native English speaker
• Relevant degree certificate(s)
• Teaching qualification certificate(s) — e.g. TEFL, TESOL, CELTA or equivalent
• A self-introduction video (required at application stage)
• Demonstrated familiarity with the Reading Explorer series or similar structured EFL curricula is an advantage
• Prior small-group teaching experience required for group class assignments
• Comfortable working with learners aged 6–16 in an online environment
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable home teaching setup
