NIVA American International School is seeking an exceptional Elementary School Teacher to join its faculty on a full-time basis. Job Description
The Elementary School Teacher will deliver instruction across core subject areas at the elementary level. Depending on assignment, courses may include:
- English Language Arts (ELA) and Reading
- Mathematics and Science
- Social Studies
Key classroom and professional responsibilities include:
- Strategically planning and delivering engaging, standards-aligned lessons that promote active learning and student curiosity
- Managing and monitoring students to ensure their safety, well-being, and holistic development — social, emotional, intellectual, physical, and character-based
- Implementing varied teaching strategies to nurture creativity and enthusiasm in the learning process
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of student progress, including grade books and portfolios
- Collaborating with school leadership to ensure learning goals are consistently achieved
- Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding academic progress and overall student development
- Attending all required training sessions, seminars, school activities, and staff meetings
- Fulfilling administrative duties related to teaching as required
The standard workload is approximately 24 teaching periods per week (45-minute periods), along with homeroom supervision and classroom management responsibilities.
Requirements
- Language: American English proficiency is required, demonstrated through interview; candidates must model and teach accurate pronunciation to students and communicate effectively in an academic English environment
- Experience: Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience; prior experience in an American curriculum or U.S.-accredited school setting is advantageous
- Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and MAP/NWEA data analysis skills to design and implement targeted instructional interventions
- Certification: A degree in Education or a related field is required; a valid teaching license is preferred. Applicants from other degree backgrounds may be considered with substantial teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to a long-term career in education. All candidates must be willing to obtain a Thai or internationally recognised teaching qualification to satisfy Thai Teaching License requirements
