Wuhan Optics Valley Ulink School — a CAIE-authorised centre offering the IGCSE and A-Level curriculum to students aged 14–19 — is seeking an experienced A-Level Sociology Teacher for a full-time position in Wuhan, the cultural and educational heart of central China.
Job Description
As an A-Level Sociology Teacher, you will deliver high-quality lessons to Chinese students preparing for Cambridge A-Level examinations and competitive university applications worldwide. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Planning, teaching and assessing A-Level Sociology lessons in line with the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) framework
- Supporting students’ UCAS and international university application process with proven, measurable learning outcomes
- Differentiating teaching strategies to accommodate varying levels of subject knowledge and English language proficiency
- Implementing assessment-for-learning and active learning approaches consistently in the classroom
- Collaborating as a people-centric team player within a multilingual, multicultural staff community
- Promoting the school values of ‘Student First’ and ‘Learning and Sharing’
- Contributing to teacher training and mentoring activities where relevant experience exists
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience teaching A-Level Sociology with a strong track record of student outcomes
- Culturally adaptive mindset with a genuine passion for holistic, student-centred education
- Solid grounding in assessment-for-learning methodology and active learning pedagogy
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; an effective team player
- Ability to adapt lesson delivery to mixed-ability and mixed-language-background classes
- Prior experience in teacher training or academic mentoring is an advantage
