
Primary English Teacher at Anglo Singapore International School Bangkok
Anglo Singapore International School is looking for a dedicated and academically strong Primary English Teacher to join its Sukhumvit 64 Campus team in Bangkok, Thailand, on a full-time basis starting August 2026. This role is ideal for a native English speaker with solid experience in Cambridge Primary English and a genuine passion for international education.
Job Description
As the Primary English Teacher, you will deliver Cambridge Primary First Language English across the primary years, building strong literacy foundations and confident communication skills in students for whom English is a second language. Your day-to-day responsibilities will span both academic instruction and homeroom pastoral duties.
Academic Responsibilities:
- Teach Cambridge Primary First Language English in line with curriculum expectations and progression frameworks.
- Plan and deliver structured, intentional lessons targeting reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
- Apply appropriate scaffolding techniques to support EFL learners while maintaining high academic rigour.
- Develop students’ competencies in phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, writing structure, and extended written expression.
- Use formative and summative assessment to track progress and drive targeted differentiation.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback that supports continuous literacy development.
Homeroom, Pastoral & Wellbeing Responsibilities:
- Serve as homeroom teacher, overseeing students’ pastoral care, social-emotional wellbeing, and daily routines.
- Foster an inclusive, structured classroom environment that encourages independence and positive learning habits.
- Monitor students’ social and emotional development in collaboration with relevant school staff.
- Maintain regular, meaningful communication with parents regarding academic progress and overall development.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure curriculum coherence and consistency across the primary programme.
- Participate in school events, co-curricular activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Uphold all school policies, including safeguarding and child wellbeing guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Primary Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2β3 years’ experience teaching Primary English.
- Strong working knowledge of the Cambridge Primary English curriculum, including learning objectives, progression, and assessment.
- Proven experience delivering First Language English to students whose first language is not English in a mainstream primary setting.
- Solid understanding of primary literacy development and scaffolding strategies that preserve academic demand.
- Prior experience in international or multilingual school environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent English proficiency, communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
- Native English speaker preferred.
