
Secondary English Teacher at PBISS International School, Koh Samui
PBISS International School on the island of Koh Samui is seeking a well-qualified Secondary English Teacher to join its full-time teaching team, delivering English from lower secondary (Year 7) through iGCSE and potentially A Level.
Job Description
This is a rewarding opportunity to shape the English language and literature experience of a diverse, multi-ability student cohort at a result-driven international school. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Teaching English across the secondary age and ability range — from Year 7 up to iGCSE level, with potential extension to A Level
- Planning and delivering engaging, impactful lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum and pedagogic approach
- Applying the school’s assessment and reporting policies, contributing to internal examinations, and attending parents’ meetings as required
- Running or contributing to enrichment, intervention and outreach activities that support individual students or groups
- Tutoring groups of varying sizes, monitoring student well-being alongside academic progress
- Playing an active role in the co-curricular and pastoral life of the school, in line with agreements made with the leadership team
- Upholding and actively contributing to the school’s safeguarding principles for all young people
- Participating in educational development initiatives and sharing teaching approaches within a culture of collaborative professional practice
Requirements
PBISS is looking for a reflective, motivated educator who brings both subject expertise and a genuine commitment to student development. The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a good honours degree (2:1 or above) and/or a postgraduate qualification in a directly related subject
- Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach English engagingly across a wide range of ages and abilities
- Share the school’s holistic vision of education, including its co-curricular and pastoral dimensions
- Show a solid commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in the classroom
- Embrace innovation in teaching, learning and assessment, including differentiated approaches
