Anglo Singapore International School is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Kindergarten & Primary School Counsellor to join its international school community in Bangkok (Sukhumvit 31), starting August/September 2026. This full-time role sits at the heart of student wellbeing, pastoral care, and safeguarding across the Early Years and Primary years.

Job Description

  • Delivering individual and small-group counselling sessions to address students’ social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Supporting children experiencing anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, friendship issues, behavioural concerns, and school adjustment challenges.
  • Meeting with parents to discuss wellbeing concerns, share professional guidance, and agree on tailored support strategies.
  • Actively contributing to safeguarding and child protection processes — identifying concerns, maintaining accurate records, and following established reporting procedures.
  • Coordinating referrals to and collaboration with external professionals such as psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and medical practitioners, in consultation with the Principal and parents.
  • Providing practical consultation and classroom strategies to teachers and support staff to help meet students’ emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.
  • Maintaining confidential counselling records in line with professional, ethical, and school standards.
  • Responding calmly and effectively to student wellbeing concerns and crisis situations, following school protocols.
  • Supporting the roll-out of wellbeing initiatives, social-emotional learning (SEL) programmes, and preventative education across both divisions.
  • Championing a respectful, safe, inclusive, and nurturing school culture that places student wellbeing at its core.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Recognised professional training or certification in counselling or psychology.
  • Prior experience working with Kindergarten and/or Primary school-aged students is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood and child development, mental health, and student wellbeing.
  • Experience in school-based counselling or pastoral care is a distinct advantage.
  • High proficiency in English for professional communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse, multicultural international school environment.
  • A calm, empathetic, and professionally ethical approach, with an unwavering commitment to safeguarding children.
