Anglo Singapore International School is looking for a dedicated and experienced Kindergarten & Primary School Counsellor to join our welcoming international school community at our Sukhumvit 31 campus in Bangkok. The role begins on 17 August 2026 and is ideally suited to a caring professional who excels in individual casework, upholds strong ethical standards, and is genuinely passionate about fostering the social-emotional growth of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver individual and small-group counselling sessions addressing students’ social, emotional, and behavioural wellbeing.
  • Assist students who are navigating anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, peer relationship challenges, behavioural issues, school transition concerns, or other age-appropriate wellbeing needs.
  • Engage with parents through regular meetings to discuss concerns, offer professional guidance, and co-develop support plans.
  • Play an active role in the school’s safeguarding and child protection framework β€” identifying issues, keeping thorough records, and adhering to reporting protocols.
  • Liaise with external specialists such as psychologists, therapists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and medical professionals as needed, in consultation with the Principal and parents.
  • Coordinate student referrals and ensure continuity of care through effective follow-up support.
  • Advise and equip classroom teachers and support staff with practical strategies to address students’ emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.
  • Maintain confidential, accurate counselling records in line with professional, ethical, and school requirements.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to wellbeing concerns and crisis situations according to established school procedures.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of wellbeing initiatives, social-emotional learning (SEL) programmes, and preventative education across both the Kindergarten and Primary divisions.
  • Champion a safe, inclusive, respectful, and nurturing school environment that places student wellbeing at its centre.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and reflective practice, contributing positively to the broader school community.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related discipline.
  • Recognised professional qualification or certification in counselling or psychology.
  • Previous experience working with Kindergarten and/or Primary-aged students is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of early childhood and child development, mental health, and student wellbeing principles.
  • Background in school-based counselling or pastoral care is an advantage.
  • High proficiency in English for effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational abilities.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a diverse, international school setting.
  • A calm, empathetic, and professional demeanour, with a firm commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and child safeguarding.
