
Mathematics Teacher (KS3/IGCSE/A Level) at Malvern College Qingdao
Malvern College Qingdao, a leading independent international school in China, seeks an experienced Mathematics teacher to join its faculty and contribute to the development and delivery of the College’s vision and values.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for teaching mathematics to students aged 12–18, working across KS3, IGCSE and A Level curricula. You will report to the Head of Department and be an active, supportive member of the faculty and wider school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics to pupils aged 12–18 across multiple examination levels
- Contribute to the development of the department’s curriculum and learning resources
- Set and mark homework and assessments in line with school and departmental policies
- Apply consistent and effective teaching and classroom management strategies
- Set and review performance targets for students
- Contribute to the development and implementation of assessment for learning strategies
- Undertake one evening study hall duty per week (2 hours)
- Participate in six to eight weekend day duties annually (4 hours each)
- Participate actively in extracurricular activities
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or above in mathematics with a teaching qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ relevant teaching experience
- Full child protection screening and appropriate pre-employment checks required
- Three professional referees
Desirable Experience
- Experience teaching second language speakers
- Boarding school experience
Contract Terms
Full-time, three-year contract (renewable). Opportunities to join the pastoral team and pursue middle management positions as the school develops. Single teachers and teaching couples welcome (unsuitable for teachers with children below age 16).
