Volunteer English & Spanish Teachers Onboard Peace Boat – Global Voyage 125 in Japan

Do you teach English or Spanish and love the idea of combining education with international travel? Peace Boat’s GET language programme is now recruiting volunteer English and Spanish instructors to join Global Voyage 125. The journey sets sail on December 15, 2026 and returns to Yokohama, Japan on March 31, 2027, taking part in an extraordinary round-the-world cruise that even reaches Antarctica, with stops spanning Africa, South America, and the South Pacific along the way.

Peace Boat is an international NGO that promotes a culture of peace by bringing people together across borders through learning, advocacy, and collaboration. As a teacher, you would help participants build the language skills and confidence they need to form those cross-cultural connections. Although the role is unpaid, Peace Boat covers visa costs, port fees, and room and board.

Please note these are short-term volunteer roles for the voyage only, with no full-time positions available. Applicants complete an application form along with several tasks, including a self-introduction video and sample lesson plans. Applications are open until August 24, 2026 (end of business, JST), with online interviews held September 7-11 JST.
