Vietnam’s new visa policy makes travel easier with 45-day Visa-Free Entry for 12 Countries
Vietnam is making it even easier for international travelers to explore its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. The Government has announced a 45-day visa-free policy for citizens of 12 European countries, effective from August 15, 2025, to August 14, 2028.
Eligible travelers come from Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland.
The Government also recently broadened the visa exemption policy to include state guests, scholars, scientists, professors, global business leaders, celebrities, renowned artists and athletes, and honorary consuls—a move reflecting Vietnam’s growing openness and international engagement.
Earlier this year, Vietnam granted visa waivers for tourists from Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland until the end of 2025. In March, the program expanded further to cover 12 additional countries, including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland, valid until March 14, 2028.
All these efforts aim to boost inbound tourism and support Vietnam’s ambitious goal of achieving at least 8% GDP growth in 2025.
From January to July, Vietnam welcomed 12.2 million foreign visitors, a 22.5% increase compared to the same period last year. With this impressive momentum, the country is well on track to reach its target of 25 million international arrivals by the end of 2025.
